What Causes Brown Vaginal Bleeding While On Sprintec?
I am on the birth control pill Sprintec . I think that s what it s called. I just switched from that one from my old one. I ve been on it for about 3 months now. I had unprotected sex last week with him. He did not ejaculate inside of me. I had forgotten to take my pill that night. And that was the only one I had forgotten out of the whole month. Then, we had sex that morning. Still no protection. Now that it s getting closer to my period, I ve been having brown blood, then it s getting red and it s just a mixture. Is this normal? I really need someone to ease my mind. It s really been stressing me out. I get too scared to take pregnancy tests.
The brown colored spotting turning to frank red bleeding is completely normal to be observed during menstruation. It is nothing to be worried about. However, if you do not notice the usual amount of bleeding as expected, then please be advised to do a home pregnancy test. In the future, if you forget even a single dose of birth control pill make sure to use another form of contraception like condoms for at least 2 weeks.
