What Causes Brown Spotting In Pregnancy?

I am 19, and between 13-15 weeks pregnant. It's been going great until a couple days ago i started spotting brown, and now two days later, (after i thought it was slowing down) after going for a walk, it's now a rusty red color and a bit heavier. I never had any implantation bleeding and this is around the time my period would have been due for this month. i have cramping but i've had that since day one, and they just feel like menstrual cramps. What are the chances of this being a miscarriage, even after 12 weeks? I don't have my medical right now so i'm completely terrified and can't see a doctor at the drop of a hat :(

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Spotting at 13-15 weeks of pregnancy can be due to threatened or missed abortion or bleeding around the fetus( subchorionic haemorrhage). Both the conditions can be diagnosed with ultrasound and proper examination.
I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, investigated and treated accordingly. Subchorionic haemorrhage can be effectively treated with progesterone injection or tablets and hCG injection.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
