Very often, high uncontrolled sugars can cause similar symptoms. There are other alternative possibilities as well- This could be a case of gastritis. The gastritis often makes a person feel bloated after having eaten the food. The patient is on Metformin medicine. Even this medicine can cause stomach related symptoms. Most commonly the symptom is pain, but bloating feeling is also known. I would suggest she try an antacid of proton pump inhibitor group. Also checking sugars and HbA1C would be a good idea.
