What Causes Blood In Stool After Started Prilosec With Magnesium For Heartburn?

I recently began taking prilosec with magnesium for heartburn I at the time had for over a week straight and it had become more frequent in the past few months. I noticed last night and today I have blood in my stool. Should I stop taking the prilosec and see if the blood goes away before seeing a doctor?

Hello,

Prilosec may not cause blood in stool it may be due to hard stools or hemorrhods or fissure in ano.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Get it done stool examination and colonoscopy and upper GI endoscopy.

Use syrp Cremaffin plus. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
