What Causes Blood Clots In Leg & Lungs?

question
My fiance has been sick for several months now. He was in the hospital for a week, his potassium, magnesium and calicium were very low. They started coming up he was sent home.
Four weeks later, he was having the same issues,
throwing up for days. We went back to the er, his levels were low again. They admitted him, after three days, they found blood clots in his right leg and in both lungs. We are at square one, and very lost.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi dear.

Prolonged bed rest(weeks to months) will causes stasis of blood due to lack of movement and this predisposes the formation of blood clots in our blood vessles(veins) which detach and reach lungs(more serious condition).Hope this answers your query.
