What Causes Blood Blister With Red Ring On Upper Thigh?

I found a small blood blister with a red ring around it on my outer upper thigh today. I intially thought it was a tick. A friend who is also a nurse took tweezers and remove the first layer of skin too see if there was a tick in there. She drained the blood blister and now I just have a sore. Is this something I should go see my md about? I read online that this could be a melanoma?

Hello,

As per your case history, you are having either insect bite dermatitis or irritant dermatitis.

My treatment advice is:
1. Do not squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like Fusiderm-B cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medicine like Levocetirizine twice daily for 7 to 10 days.

If the problem persists, then consult a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
