What Causes Blockage In The Center Of Chest Sternum?

I feel like there is something blocking the food from continuing down my throat and into the stomach. The blockage area is in the center of chest sternum (sp). The past couple of days, I have had hick-ups actually leading to vomiting. Any idea what I can do or should do?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of obstructive esophageal lesion and GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) is more.
This is the likely reason for your vomiting and blocking sensation while swallowing food.
So better to consult gastroenterologist and get done upper GI (gastrointestinal) scopy for the diagnosis of this.
It will diagnose obstructive lesions like mass, nodule, polyp etc if present.
So consult gastroenterologist and discuss all these.
Don't worry, you will be alright. But first diagnose yourself and then start appropriate treatment.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
