HI, 10 days ago I had surgery to remove nasal polyps and a deviated septum and since then I have been coughing up blood. Initially it looked old brownish clolour but more recently it appears more bright red. I also have developed pimples on the nose after surgery.

Hello,

Maybe time takes to heal the mucosal trauma after surgery. Till then you have to avoid blowing of nasal cavity. Use antibiotics and decongestants.

In cases of gastritis or peptic ulcer disease or bronchiectasis or pneumonia may present like hemoptysis.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Get it done sputum examination and microscopy.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
