What Causes Big Black Spot On The Middle Of The Eye?

I got some thick black floaters (much thicker and darker than I usually have).
They disappeared after about 10 minutes. Later I got a rather big black spot in the middle
of the eye which also disappeared after a few minutes. It is now about
8 hours later and my vision is normal.
Should i consult my doctor?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
It seems from the history that you are having a dark black spot in the visual field which appeared spontaneously and disappeared by itself.
This indicates transient loss of vision and the causes are hypotension, hypovolemia, vascular causes like prodromal symptom of artery of retinal artery occlusion, migraine...
Hence this requires evaluation by a ophthalmologist for examination and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
