What Causes Acute Stomach Pain Near The Umbilicus Intermittently?
Hi, I'm having severe pain in my stomach that feel like contractions but i'm not pregnant. The pain starts about where my belly button is and starts out not so bad but then its a pain that makes me double over and it lasts for like 30-45 seconds then goes away. Then it can be minutes or hours later and it does it again....
Pain at the umbilicus intermittently may be due to spasmodic contractions of small bowel seen in Irritable bowel syndrome or infection or food Intolerance etcetera. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. Take plenty of oral fluids, soft diet and probiotics. If symptoms not improved please consult your surgeon he will do scan abdomen and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
