What Causes Acid Reflux With The Feeling Of Lump In Throat?

I have acid reflux sometimes after eating meals. Last week I had severe stomach pain which I thought was from excess gas. I took antiacid gel and the pain was gone, however, the acid reflux still persists and I feel that there is lump in my throat. Please help. Laura

Hello,

Actually, it may not be lump in esophagus but it seems to be dysphagia which is the pretty common complaint in case of Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) it happens due to inflammatory condition of esophagus.

If I would be doctor this case, then I would try to treat this with Tab Omeprazole 40 mg once in day for six weeks, with tablet Domperidone.

It is better to avoid taking the heavy meal spicy food, coffee, smoking, alcohol prior to bed. In such case it is necessary to rule out the possibility of H Pylori infection and for that you will have to see the gastroenterologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
