What Causes Abdominal Cramps After Total Hysterectomy?
Hi, I had a total hysterectomy two weeks ago. Second day post op had a blood transfusion, three units. Temp remains high. Have 6cmx8cm haematoma pressing on pelvis. Been on IV metronidazole and cefallexin. Just been discharged. Have low albumen levels. Have very loud bowel sounds straight after eating. Sounds like fluid with abdominal cramps and temp. What should I do?
noted history of hysterectomy. it is best if you do a follow-up consult with your gynecologist for physical examination and clinical evaluation. transfusion might have been done to compensate for the blood loss during surgery. deep breathing exercise is also encouraged to prevent the occurence of fever. proper antibiotic regimen is both prophylactic and preventive of infection during your pre-, intra- and operative course. your bowels might be recovering as well from the surgery hence the hyperactivity. post-operative pain is expected initially. it will subside eventually. a follow-up check-up with your doctor is best. diagnostics and management will be directed accordingly.
hope this helps.
good day!!
