What Causes A Bulge After Umbilical Hernia Repair Surgery?

I had umbilical hernia repair surgery about 5 years ago. Yesterday I noticed a bulge in the area of the surgery and when I pressed in on it, it felt like fluid was moving around. I then tensed my abdominal muscles and it felt like fluid was moving into the area. Any ideas?

HI
Well come to HCM
Thank for asking
Your query being appreciated, present symptoms of oozing some liquid from umbilical area may not be related with the surgery but it could be infection it may be bacteria or fungal infection local application can be applied and best would be Povidone Iodine ointment, if condition remains as it is then it has to be investigated possibility of foreign body need to be ruled out, have surgical opinion then at this point past history of surgery may be taken into consideration hope this information helps.
