What Can Cause Fatigue And Weight Gain Post Thyroidectomy With Elevated T4 Level?

I had a thyroidectomy on oct 7,2013.i was told after a biopsy that I had Hurthel cell cancer and hosimotos. The path results showed no cancer.my doctors check my blood levels every 6weeks.. Last blood work showed my t4 level was 4 1/2. Not sure what that means but they seemed concerned. They up'd my levelthoroxin from .88 to 1 three weeks ago. My only issues since my surgery has been exhaustion and weight gain. The doctors say that exhaustion has nothing to do with my lack of thyroid. Can u tell me what it means for the t4 to b high and y I'm exhausted?

dear user, Hi! post thyroidectomy the doctors have put you on thyroxine replacement, that is perfectly fine. now as your t4 you say is high and then why should your dose be increased. what is the exact T4 value? it cannot be reported as 4 1/2. it has to be in some decimals. and if it is T4, then 4 1/2 is not high, if it is Free T4 then yes it is high. if it is high doctors will not increase the value from 88 to 100 mcg. there is a communication gap. now as you are tired and exhausted, you must attain normal thyroid balance, and supplement yourself with calcium, vitamin D, b12. Regards!
