What Are Treatment Options For AFIB And Was Taking Aspirin For The Same?

Have been having afib episodes since Aug. 24hr monitor diagnosed it Nov. 27th. See a EP specialist Jan. 2nd. My episodes are 2-4 a week lasting from 1-12 hrs. I have low HR out of afib around high 50 s low sixty s. I am concerned about medications lowering my HR too much. When in afib highest was 157. Only on aspirin as of right now. Cardiologist said with my low Chad score that is effective. I am 39yrs old, no other risk factors. But I have people telling me aspirin is nothing more than a placebo? Sleep apnea has been ruled out as well. Just wanting to know what treatment options there are for me? Also when I am in afib if I do something, walk, get my HR up I convert to NSR on my own.

Hello
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Aspirin is only a placebo and don't play any part in the treatment of atrial fibrillation .
As you want a treatment for atrial fibrillation , it is very difficult to suggest any treatment , till cause of this disease is not known .
Cause may be .
1 Rheumatic heart disease.
2 atherosclewrotic heart disease
3 Thyrotoxicosis
4 mitral valve prolapse
5 A S D .
So in my opinion write down the exact reason of atrial fibrillation or consult a cardiologist and get his opinion as this is concerning.
Good luck.
