What Are The Ways To Strengthen A Colon Cancer Patient?

Hello. My brother is 46 and was just diagnosed with colon cancer Stage 4, mets to liver a month ago. He received 2 treatments of chemo. He was already weak from not eating in order to avoid pain for the past three months. Now the chemo is making an already weak body even weaker. He etas small amounts, takes Percocet to deal with the pain, doesn t like the Ensure supplements (too rich and sweet he says). What else can we give him to strengthen him a little more? Thanks for your reply.

Hi
Since your brother is suffering from stage 4 colon cancer aim of treatment now should be palliative chemotherapy along with basic supportive care.
Since he is very weak and unable to eat i will recommend total parenteral nutrition which contains all essential nutrients and can be given by a feed drip through a needle or catheter placed in his veins for 10 to 12 hours once a day .
