My 86 year old mother has a hernia (abdominal) that we thought developed from lifting. She is now having burning sensations in her stomach, back and sometimes feet, not daily, but may last for days. Could it be the hernia, and is there help for this?
You have provided limitted information as hernia may be a swelling in groin region, above or bellow the umbilicus or previos surgical scar. If i was your treating doctor i would first examine you whether it is In the groin(inguinal) region or above or below the umbilicus Is it icrease while stands from lying positio, lift weight or coughs.and it reduce spontanseously or with hand Finally i would do an ultrasound for hernia And then advise her surgery if she was fit for thay
