What Are The Side Effects Of Vyvanse?

I am a 20 year old male at 6 and 155lbs. Several days ago I took 100mg of Vyvanse recreationally and have now fallen into a deep depression, including a serious loss in appetite and suicidal thoughts. I feel as though part of my mind has literally changed, and I feel almost slightly intoxicated in some way (although this could just be a symptom of malnutrition, I still feel as if something more serious is going on). Could Vyvanse have affected my mental health in an irreversible way? Is it possible that it is still lingering in my system? If so, is there anything a doctor can do to reverse this change or will I never feel the same again?

Hello,

This medicine has some side effects which are considered serious ones. The ones you have mentioned are serious ones and these might be related to Vyvanse. Do not worry, the symptoms should fade away after the medicine is stopped or altered with different ones.

My advice to you will be, seek your doctor's help on this. He will assess your condition and guide you further with better management with either by changing the medicine or altering the dosage. So without delay consult your doctor to avoid further complications.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
