What Are The Side Effects Of Cymbalta?

can i switch to cymbalta from pristiq? i am tapering off of pristiq and it feels awful. I was thinking i didn t need and antidepressant but clearly i do but i don t want the weight gain aspect of pristiq. What are the side effects of cymbalta and should i try it or just go back to pristiq? thanks,

Yes, you can definitely shift from pristiq(desvenlafaxine) to cymbalta(duloxetine). If you have weight gain problem with pristiq, then definitely switching to cymbalta is worth trying. Though cymbalta can also cause weight gain, it is probably less than pristiq and moreover cymbalta can actually cause weight loss in some patients. There are many side effects associated with both of the above drugs; so it's more of a choice as to which is most tolerable. Please consult your treating physician/psychiatrist to make a switch over.
