I have been to my doctor many times and have undergone three colonoscopies over a period of twenty years. I had at the time, plain heartburn for which my gastroenterologist prescribed Protonix 40 mg, which works pretty well. However, lately, at night around 2:00 p.m., I have been experiencing excruciating pain in my chest and throat, as though I am on fire inside. I would jump out of bed before the acid literally came out of my mouth and would make myself a very weak cup of tea with lots of sugar and some 2% milk.

I had complained to my doctor that I was having what I called â??painful heartbeatsâ?? that would go on for hours and would actually hurt.

My doctor sent me for dozens of bloods tests, CAT Scans, X-rays of my chest, Sonograms, two stress tests and three colonoscopies over a period of 20 years. It got so bad, that I was hospitalized with serious painful heartbeat about four months ago. The hospital found nothing. I wore a Holter Monitor for 48 hours ~ again, nothing. I am so down-feeling about this.

Absolutely nothing found. He even checked my liver and kidney function and did a Thyroid tests one month ago. Nothing����

What my doctor indicated to me, was that the pain in my chest / heart, could be another condition, where the acid is inflaming the area near my heart and causing me to feel as though it is my heart. Unfortunately, I cannot remember what my doctor called the condition.

I am currently on Exforge 10 mg*/320 mg., Crestor 5 mg., one 325 mg. Enteric Aspirin along with Caltrate 600 mg.

MY QUESTION: Do you have any thoughts, comments or opinions on this strange problem I am describing. Have you heard of another human being having this? Please help.
