I used Mirena for 5 years without any significant side effects. I had it removed and after a month I had a new Mirena inserted. Both removal and insertion were extremely painful, unlike the first time insertion. I am now experiencing hair loss , rash on my thigh pubic area and neck which is blotchy red patches and slightly itchy, I also for the past three months since insertion am experiencing depression and irritabiliy, I am thinking getting the IUD removed. Are these all side effects of the Mirena IUD?
