What Are The Precautions After Laparoscopy?

Hi, I had a laparoscopy today and took a flight a few hours later. I'm concerned now about potential risks that might have been caused. I should've asked before but neglected to. I'm wondering whether there is anything I should do--like take aspirin to protect against a blood clot.

Hello,

Some advices that I can give to you are :
-Be sure to keep your stitches covered for the first 48 hours after your surgery. You may shower after that.
-Gently pat the stitches dry with a soft towel, and cover them with a small adhesive bandage.
-It's important to drink as much fluid as you did before the surgery.
-On your first day at home, have light liquids and foods such as apple juice, ginger ale, ice pops, soup, crackers, and toast to help prevent stomach upset.
-Avoid citrus juices such as orange juice and tomato juice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
