What Are The Causes Of Vaginal Discharge And Spotting?

I have bursts of watery vaginal discharge mid-cycle... I've been having this for the past 18 months or so, I'm 36 and haven't been sexually active for over 2 years. Not on the pill, have 2 small fibroids. What do you think may be causing this odourless watery discharge and also spotting from day 9 of my cycle? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,
Your symptoms are suggestive of ovulation. The watery discharge is consequent to ovulation and perhaps the spotting too. Yet, if the spotting does not subside in a couple of days and is persistent, you need further evaluation for any local causes or hormonal imbalances. The fibroids have nothing to do here, but you should get regular checkups to see how they are doing. Usually fibroids regress after menopause, but at your age, they may enlarge and hence the care. Hope your query has been answered. Wish you good health.
