Weird Sensation In Ear, Fullness In Head, Hearing Robotic Voice When Somebody Speaks, Having Nasal Allergies. Reason?
My 17 year daughter woke yesterday with what she described as a wierd sensation in her ear & fullness in her head. Today she says when people talk it sounds like a robotic voice in her head. She found it difficult to hear past it during lessons at school . She has always suffered from nasal allergies - dust, animal hair, plants etc so is often sneezy & blocked but has never suffered with anything like this.
It is possible that she has eusthacian tube dysfunction. The eusthacian tube is a narrow tube that connects the back of the middle ear with the nose.
It has different functions: (1)ventilation of the middle ear (2)protection of the middle ear from secretions and sound pressures (3)clearance of middle ear secretions into the middle pharynx
With your daughter's history of sinusitis, it is possible that this has become blocked.
This would require treatment of the sinuses with topical steroid nasal sprays, antihistamines and decongestants. These medications can usually be obtained over the counter.
I hope this helps
