Was Treated For Yeast Infection. Had Sex Without Discomfort. Partner's Wife Diagnosed With HPV. My HPV Misinterpreted As Yeast Infecton?
hello, my name is Theresa...a few months ago i went to a dermatologist for cystic acne. i was put on a daily anitbiotic..a few days after taking it i got what i thought was a yeast infection. i started eating yogurt and treating it with vinegar, i most definately stopped taking the antibiotic. i felt good enough to have sex with my boyfriend while i had this...there was some discomfort for a little bit but went away as we proceeded. now my boyfriends babies mom has been diagnosed with HPV....and i believe him and her were sexually active together still..could i have gotten a yeast infection confused with HPV??? can HPV present itself as a yeast infection..also i had the gardasil shots...i think i got all three but i may have only gotten 2...i know the best way to find out if i have HPV is to get tested but could you please answer my question
I can understand your concern for the possibility of HPV infection in yourself.
Having discomfort in sex doesn't mean to have HPV only. The best way to rule out the same is by undergoing simple test to diagnose whether you have HPV or not.
So I suggest you to go for the HPV testing so that exact situation can be determined.
If it comes positive then you can meet your gynecologist and get treatment accordingly. If it is negative then you always try to have protected intercourse with your boyfriend by using condoms.
Take care.
