They want to cut from her cheek bone to her jaw? And they re really worried. Can you please give an input? I am a paramedic and going to start school for an RN. but I am clueless. Please help. With the details submitted it is hard to comment on the health status of your boyfriend's mother.
It looks like she is having a bleeding diasthesis associated with some kind of growth/tumour in and around the oral cavity. Routine investigations such as blood counts, platelet counts, coagulation profile and liver function test can give us clue regarding the cause of uncontrolled bleeding. Pathological report of the excised tissue will provide information regarding the nature of growth - whether it is benign or malignant.
You or any of his family members need to discuss with the treating doctors to know more about her conditions.
All the Best!
