Trying To Conceive. USG Shows Fibroids In Uterus. Chances Of Conceiving?

Good day , I am 41 years old with one child who is 21 years old. I've been trying to conceive for over a year without success. I saw my OBGYN who ordered an ultrasound which showed multiple small fibroids in my uterus area. What are my chances of conceiving now? My partner has a 2 year old baby from his last relationship so I don't think he has a problem. Thank you. My email is YYYY@YYYY

Hi,
Thanks for the query.

The fibroids can affect the fertility, when:
-They are obstructing the cervical opening or fallopian tube opening etc.
-When the uterine cavity is becoming irregular due to the fibroids, so that the implantation will become difficult.
So the chances of fertility depends on situation, size and number of the fibroids.
According to this you discuss with your doctor the possibility of pregnancy.
If needed you can go for medical treatment for few months to decrease the size of the fibroids and then plan for pregnancy.
