Trying To Conceive. Stopped My Pills. This Time Bled Heavily. Have Pregnancy Symptoms. Pregnancy Test Negative. Still Pregnant?

Hi, my name is Abbie and I'm 22. My husband and I decided to start trying to conceive so I stopped taking my birth control pills after my menstrual cycle in May. Since then, I have bled once, very heavily, for a few days. It was a week before my next period was due, so I thought it could be implantation bleeding. I've had many pregnancy symptoms, but all negative pregnancy tests. I was wondering if maybe my hormones are just regulating after going off the pill or if I could be pregnant?

Hello,

Bleeding just one week before period due date may indicate implantation bleeding or withdrawal effect of the birth control pill.

I suggest you to undergo one blood test for beta-hCG or TVS scan (at 4 weeks) to rule out possible conception or other underlying pathology. Early pregnancy test may give negative result.

Following that, you must consult with gynecologist for next line management. Till then, you maintain your genital hygiene properly. Good luck.
