Trying To Conceive. Lifted Electric Beauty Couch, Early Heavy Periods, Stomach Cramps. Is It Miscarriage?

Hi
I lifted an electric beauty couch into a car Friday night and Saturday morning I came on my period 5 days early. It's day 4 now and still heavy, much heavier then it's ever been with stomach cramps that I never suffer with.
My cycle is always regular and we've been trying for baby number 4 for 2 years. We had sex through ovulation.
Please can you tell me if this is an early pregnancy or miscarriage. I'm 38. Thankyou. Paula.

Hi and thank you for your query.
The symptoms you are describing could very well be those of a simple menorrhagia (abundant periods) as well as those of an early miscarriage or a threatened miscarriage. You should get an ultrasound scan as soon as possible and measure serum β-hCG (pregnancy hormone).
I hope this answers your question.
