Trapped My Wrist, Swollen, Bruise, Painful. Able To Move, Do You Think Fractured?
I trapped my wrist in my door it slammed really hard on the bone under my thumb it swelled up making my wrist look bent however today (it happened yesterday) it has a bruise and is very painful but the swelling has gone down, when it happened i got pain from my fingers to my shoulder and my hand went cold, it has been aching today from being in the cold i have really bad pain in my fingers and thumb. But i have movement in it which makes me think nothing bads happened as everyone has told me i wouldnt be able to move it if it was broken. What do you think is wrong with it?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Without X-ray, it is difficult to differentiate a fracture from others. I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination. You may get the X-ray of the area affected under his/her guidance.
In the interim, apply ice packs to the affected area,anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation. Avoid lifting and rest well.
Hope this will helps you. Take care.
