Tonsillectomy Surgery Done 12 Days Ago, Scabs Healed. Safe To Smoke Cigarettes?

I am on day 12 of pst op tonsillectomy , looks like all scabs are gone. when is it safe to smoke cigarettes should I decide to pick up the habit again. I know this is a good time to quit, do please don t tell me that, and how I should not smoke.
