Tightness In The Right Side Throat, Difficulty In Swallowing. Solution?

I have had a really tight throat - only on the right side and have trouble swallowing , especially at night and when lying flat. Sometimes during the day the symptoms are there, also. At times I when I sniff, (like to clear my sinuses) I can actually feel drainage flowing down to my throat. I have no trouble breathing or eating - just can t seem to get rid of the tightness. I find it odd that this tightness is only on the right side, not the middle or the left side. I have been to an ENT and been tested and everything was clear. What do you recommend?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello

Thanks for choosing H.C.M. for your query.

By your query I came to knew that you are having tightness in throat on right side with difficulty in swallowing.

Though you are being examined by ENT doctor and he find nothing abnormal in throat therefore possibilities are-

1- GERD ( gastro esophageal reflux disease)

2- Cardiac problem- though chances are very less but some times cardiac problems presents as tightness in neck or chest.

Anyway at present you may take -

1- Antacid with P.P.I.

2- Avoid spicy foods.

3- take plenty of fluid.

4- Take proper rest.

I hope now your doubts are clear.

Regards.
