Tightness In Chest, Paining During Breathing. What Could Be This?

Hi, I have a question. For the past couple of days I've been feeling tightness in my chest and when I breathe in and out it hurt really bad like someone has punch me. I don't smoke at all and some people say it could be stress but I hope it's nothing serious. Can you please provide me with some advice?

Thank you,

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Chest tightness and pain when breathing may be due to musculoskeletal pain or due to problem in lungs. If the pain persists even with rest and no breathing and without any breathlessness, cough and sputum , this will be due to musculoskeletal pain and get NSAID with muscle relaxant for this. If associated respiratory symptoms then consult your doctor for examination and management. You may need X ray chest and one ECG to rule out any problem. Consult your doctor for further examination and management.
Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries.
Wish you good health. Take care.

Regards
Dr. Lohit
