Taking Valium And Vicodin For Ulcer. Should I Delay The Test?

Hello,
I have been out of work for 5 years and have not had medical insurance. I have been taking a friends valium and vicodin as I have an ulcer that I can't afford to get fixed. I've been to the ER multiple times, and was told I need a scope to see where the bleeding is. In short I'm in pain and my nerves are shot. I have to take a drug test tomorrow to try to get a job. I haven't taken any valium for at least 5 days, and have only taken one vicodin in 5 days. That was on Saturday. Should I try to delay the drug test? Now that I know I may be able to get work I won't take anymore. I'm not addicted and take them just when I need them. I have no withdrawals etc. Thanks for your time

Hello,
It seems that you have peptic ulcer and GI bleed for which the Dr has advised for Endoscopy several times, but you have not done. As per your statement you used to take tab valium and vicodin for pain. Within the last 5 days you have not taken tab Valium but taken 1 tab of Vicodin. But how many days back.
The duration of test results are given for your information
Urine Test - up to 2 to 4 days, Saliva - up to 5 days, Hair test - up to 90 days
Now you have to decide whether postponement of test is necessary.
Having known the ill effects, withdrawal effects and addiction forming nature of Vicodin, why do you take it. Every addiction begins just like that.
Get treated for your GI tract problem/bleed and relieved of pain
Best wishes

Hi,
Actual valium is asedative &vicodin is pain killer-having no role in controlling ulcers. you should get scopy done ,for detecting &confirming ulcer to have proper treatment
till then you can start having- bland diet, without spices, cold milk , small &frequent feeds.
avoid tea,coffee,hard drinks,fasting.
add antacids like Dried alluminium hydroxide +magnacium hydroxide, ranitidine etc. to control ulcer pain.
pelase avoid valium. Actually, Vicodin & valium are not the drugs for ulcer. you should get gastroscopy done to evqaluate the condition & get expert's advice for it's managment.Till then,
*Avoid corrosive, spicy &heavy food(tea, coffee, hard drinks etc.) ,overeating and fasting.
*have timely, small &multiple food servings cotaining- bland ,diet ,cold milk, salads, fruits
*you can take medicines like dry alluminium hydroxide +mag. hydroxide/ ranitidine to control ulcer pain.
*Avoid valium, vicodin for a week before drug test.&omit it for ever They are habbit forming drugs &hazardus to health. It's good you are not addicted yet.
Thank you
