Taking Oral Contraceptive Pills. Fibrous Vaginal Discharge . Need To Continue Medication?

HI, I have just noticed a large fibrous discharge from the vagina during my menstrual period. It was about 2 inches long and a tubular shape, it was cloudy in colour with some blood clotted into it. It came away in one piece and was tough in texture, but could be broken apart. I am 30 years old and have recently started taking the combined oral contraceptive pill , this is my first period since being on the pill. I weigh 112lb and I am otherwise well. Do I need to take this further?
