Taking Birth Control Pills At Irregular Timings. Had Unprotected Sex. Chances Of Pregnancy?

Hello Dr,
Im 18 almost 19 years old and this is my second week in my second month of birth control pills. I'm very new to this and somedays i fall hours late in taking my daily pill. I try to take them at Nine at night right before i would usually go to sleep but some nights im late. I havent had any irregular bleeding or anything abnormal. last month my period came right when it was supposed to (during the sugar pills) and ended when i started my new pack. My boyfriend and I usually use condoms as an extra level of protection and occasionally go unprotected with him pulling out long before. But tonight was different. I forgot to take my pill and we were having protected sex so i gave hime the green light to do what he wanted. He chose not to pull out and when he was done and whent to take the condom off we discover it had broken inside me. What are the chance that i could be pregnant because im not consistant with my pill timing and because he stayed in the entire time?

Hello,

First of all, irregular taking pill and breaking of condom are quite risky for being pregnant. Missed pill does not give you full protection against unwanted pregnancy. So chance of pregnancy is there though depends on ovulation time/ fertile period.

Here, you should wait for coming period up to 7 days from due date. If you do not get it, you need to undergo one home pregnancy test and blood test for beta-HCG to confirm the same.
Following test report, you can consult with gynecologist for next line management.

Practice safe sex in future and take OCP on scheduled time for highest protection. Good Luck.

Hi,
Well it would depend on what stage of your cycle it was when you two had sex.
The best thing you can do now since you havent taken the emergency 72 is that wait and hope that your next period doesnt skip, because if it does there is a high chance that you're pregnant.
Another thing you can do in a week or so is to take a home pregnancy test or go to your doctor and ask him to run your blood work in order to check for pregnancy.
I hope this helped.

Hello
As you have barrier contraceptive break , and you are on irregular oral contraceptive pill .
so there is chances of pregnancy.
if the timing of menses extends you should go for urine pregnancy test
Using of barrier contraceptive with oral contraceptive pill it is quite more effective than the single.
using of barrier contraceptive (like condom ) have another advantage of preventing spread of sexually transmitted disease
ok
take care
