Cytotec is a misopristol preparation inducing uterine contractions & abortion. I
If you had bleeding for 5 days which stopped automatically & compleately Mostly the abortion will be compleate. & you may get your period regular or it may be earlier or late (irregular) as in all cases of abortion.Pl. take proper BC care till you get your periods
If you get spottig frequently, you should go for sonography-stating that the bleeding occured spontaneously (without mentioning medicines taken). In some cases an evacuation is needed if products of conception still remain in. Removal of unexpelled products can not be illegal.BUT to keep on bleeding,not taking a Gynacs advice is hazardus. Please take care.
In short its better to have sonography done & be confirmed about the situation than being tense.

It is not advised to take abortion pills like cytotec by yourself as these category of medications can have some really serious side effects.

Anyway, I hope you have taken the pills as instructed, either vaginally or orally. A doctor usually asks a woman to wear sanitary napkins in order to see if the products of conception have been passed or not, this confirms a successful abortion. But based on the facts given by you, I am assuming 5 days of bleeding should have resulted in a successful abortion.

Your next menstrual period should come within 25-40 days of the date of abortion, and thereafter, should regularize and appear the way they used to before the abortion.
