Taken Zoloft And Nexium For Anxiety. Tingling Sensation, Light Headedness. What Happened?

Hello. Recently, I started taking Zoloft for anxiety/depression. After taking it for five days, I discontinued it because I was having a lot of intestinal problems. It was aggravating my acid reflux (GERD). I was also taking Nexium, but I'm finding now, I can no longer take Nexium as it makes me feel ill. I've also noticed I get very ill (tingling sensations throughout my body, lightheadedness and the feeling that I want to pass out) just before a bowel movement. I feel much better afterwards. I know this is all related to Zoloft because I never felt this way before. Please explain what has happened to my body.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for using healthcare magic.

I have gone through your history.

Your symptoms are most likely to be due to anxiety or withdrawal symptom of sertraline.

You should consult your psychiatrist for detailed evaluation and management. You should not stop taking medication all of a sudden without consulting your doctor.

Doctor may switch over to different drug like escitalopram or amitryptilline or duloxetine .

You may get benefit by doing stress management and relaxation exercise like breathing exercise.

Thanks.
