Taken Bactrim For Urinary Problem. Now Have Abdominal Pain, Fever, Frequent Urination, Dysuria. Will ASP Interfere With Test?

HI- Abuout three weeks ago my doctor treated me for what seemed to be a hit and he said the urinalysis was high in something that started with the letter L. I was having symptoms such as frequent urination, dysuria, lower abdominal pain and low grade fever. I Took Bactim and it seemed to clear up after about a week or so. I had another urinalysis done after that and it seemed to have cleared up. Yesterday my symptoms came back along with flank back and higher abdominal pain , fever no higher than 100 and frequent urination and dysuria. I went back to my Doctor today for another urinalysis and it was clear. I started taking ASP last night for the pain. Could this interfere with the test and if not what could it be? My doctor also referred me to a specialist (urologist) as soon as possible.

Hi,
It seems that you are having chronic recurrent urinary tract infection.
L you mentioned is presence of Leucocyte i.e. pus cells.
Due to taking antibiotics often may not show pus cells.
You may require urine test for pus cells and culture sensitivity test.
As your doctor correctly advice to consult urologist, consult and get examined.
He will rule out other problem than UTI.
Take plenty of water.
Ok and take care.
