Swelling In The Foot After Getting Hurt By A Nail. Have Pain And Headaches. Need To Go To Emergency?

I stepped on an old nail a week ago...thought nothing more about it...then the ball of my foot swelled and it hurt to walk. Went to an NHS walk in clinic and was asked various questions and forgot about the nail. They told me to take panadol and rest the foot (cos they thought my long distance walking was causing the swelling). Anyway that night I remembered the nail incident. My foot is no longer swollen but it hurts to walk on it. My tetanus is over 10 years.... i am getting frequent headaches. Should I go to casualty? Or what next?

Hi,
its better to go to hospital soon..as u said ur TT has been taken 10yrs back its required to take one more..
just rule out if der is any foreign substance of the nail inside the foot if u had any cuts in the foot..
it can be due to an inflammatory reaction. its better to go to the casualty and have a check to ur foot...if xray is suggested it should be taken
Thank you
speedy recovery
regards
