Surgery Done To Remove Fibroids, Growths. Will Need Hysterectomy If Growths Are Cancerous. Is Sex Enjoyable Post Hysterectomy?

Good evening, I had surgery to remove some fibroids and two growths, I am waiting for the results, I should find out on July 12th whether it is cancerous and if so I want to have a hysterectomy , I want to know if sex is still enjoyable after a hysterectomy, I am 71 and my partner is 72, we have been together for 28 years and have been having a great sexual relationship.

Hi dear,

Sex is just as much enjoyable after hysterectomy as before hysterectomy. Even if there is some shortening in the length of vagina due to surgery, it gradually gets elongated to the size before surgery with intercourse. After menopause there may be some dryness in the vagina due to lack of hormones that were secreted before menopause, but you can take treatment for that from your doctor.
So, i'm sure you can look forward to continue a great sexual relationship after hysterectomy.
