Hello, You can consult an oral surgeon for another opinion. I usually refer my patients to an oral surgeon for a second opinion when there are soft tissue areas of concern. A more detailed description of the area may allow me to offer more suggestions, but a clinical evaluation is very benefical and important here. Are you having any difficulties with your tongue function or is this an aesthetic concern? You should closely monitor the condition. You do not seem satisfied with your current opinions. I suggest you do continue to inquire. A biopsy is wise if there is any concern about the quality of the tissue and to confirm a noncancerous diagnosis. Thank you for your inquiry. I hope you find my advice helpful.
Thanks for your query, I have through your query. the white patch could be because of lichen planus or frictional keratosis or candidiasis. consult a oral physician to rule out the above said conditions. if it is lichen planus and if it is asymptomatic no treatment or no biopsy is needed. keep an eye on the lesion, if any red areas appears on the tongue then consult the oral physician to get a biopsy done. when it becomes symptomatic you can take topical steroids like triamcinolone acetonide. if it is candidiasis then use topical antifungal like candid mouh paint. if it is frictional keratosis the remove the cause by rounding off the sharp teeth. i hope my answer will help you, take care.
