Suggest Treatment For Vomiting And Diarrhea In Toddler

Is this normal, do I need to worry? 2 year old has been sick for 9 days. Started with severe vomitting 1 evening. Then daily diarrhoea and some intermittent vomitting the next 8 days. On day 4 took to hospital for dehydration. Blood test showed nothing. Had first hard poop today (day 9), but then large vomit tonite. We are from Canada travelling in Mexico. Daughter was sick in Canada BEFORE we took trip - daughter had vomitting only. The rest of of (myself, husband and son, have all had vomitting and diarrhea since we arrived in Mexico), but son can't seem to shake it. We still have 7 more days in Mexico before we return home. Other than these episodes, son seems happy and mostly himself. Has a decent appetite and is taking in water (he will not drink pedialyte or juices). Do I need to worry? Is this thing just running its course? I was thinking things were looking up with the harder poop today, but then we had the vomitting tonite. Thank you for your advice.

Hi
Thanks for writing to healthcare magic.
Loose stools without blood is usually viral in nature.
It takes 5 to 7 days for complete improvement.
You are giving correct treatment for it.
ADD zinc and probiotics along with ORS/pedialyte for hydration.
If he passes urine atleast 6 times a day, there is nothing to worry.

Wishing him speedy recovery
Regards
