Hello, and I hope I can clarify this for you.

MTP (medical termination of pregnancy) rarely works after the first trimester. The earlier you use these products the higher likelihood there is of success. "MTP Forte" is a combination of herbal medications that are not regarded as effective to actually produce MTP. Cytotec can sometimes induce labor in the second trimester, but it works only in very high repeated doses and is not recommended outside of a hospital setting. Misoprostil (Cytotec) dosing regimens for pregnancy termination and the guidelines for use (in the US) are available on the website misoprostil.org

So in essence, in order to terminate your pregnancy at this point you can receive a surgical abortion if this is available in your area, which is the safest and most effective means. If not, and you decide to keep the baby, there is a possibility (though uncommon) that the medication you already took could cause birth defects and you should get a detailed ultrasound of the fetus with your OB doctor to make sure everything is normal.

I hope this information was helpful and answers your question.

Best wishes, Dr. Brown
