Suggest Treatment For Typhoid-u Causing Loss Of Appetite And Constipation
Doctor in Equatorial Guinea says my blood tested positive for Typhoid-U. She says this is only scar typhoid and has prescribed paracetamol only. That works but I have to take 1000mg three times per day to stave off the flu-type body aches and knee pain. It s been a week now with only gradual improvement ( I am now down to 1000mg paracetamol at night just so I can sleep). Other symptoms are loss of appetite and constipation. What do you recommend?

Hi,
If this is the typhoid infection then it has to be treated with a specific antibiotic. If you are getting well with symptomatic medicine then the diagnosis is doubtful, just paracetamol cannot cure the typhoid infection.
If you are getting well whatever the illness or disease you have to continue taking the paracetamol and no need to take other medications.
Differential diagnosis still remains a matter of concern.
