Hi,

Itching can be caused due to increased bilirubin levels that occurs with obstruction to flow of jaundice due to gallstones. This is often generalised and not confined to a ankle or foot. Please confirm if you are having jaundice which is causing the itching and if the itch spreads to other parts of the body. If there is yellowish skin discoloration then it might be indicative of jaundice. If your numbness in foot is not associated with itching then you must consult a neurologist for clinical evaluation of any nerve related problems.

Itching is a symptom and can be treated by applying calamine lotion to the skin. This will not eliminate the cause and further clinical evaluation of cause for itch is required.
