Suggest Treatment For Stiff Neck

I had a stiff neck a month ago where I could not even move. It came on at night before sleep. It subsided after a week, but I have had a constant pain on the left side of my neck. Sometimes it gets tight and I just press and massage the area and it gets better and then worse again. What should I do?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management you can take muscle relaxants like baclofen for symptomatic relief.
If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedic and plan for an MRI neck.
In that case you have to rule out conditions like cervical spondylitis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
