Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat With Obstruction In Throat
Last Friday I had a feeling of something stuck in my throat on the right side. It continued to get more annoying as the days went by and I was constantly coughing and trying to bring it up with no luck. On Sunday when I woke up I had a bit of a sore throat as well. By Monday my throat was extremely sore and I also had a fever and chills. I was diagnosed with strep throat on monday and taking antibiotics since then. Now my throat is no longer sore but I still have this awfull feeling of something stuck either at the side of my throat or behind my tonsil and it also feels like an obstruction far back under the right side of my tongue . I am wondering if I should be worried this is something other than strep I am worried maybe cancer since I am a smoker.

Since you have sore throat you are suggested to get swab and sputum test done. Get rapid strep tests done. Get clinically examined by an ENT to detect the pathology causing you symptoms and discomfort. You will be treated accordingly. Gargle your throat with salt water 2-3 times a day. Obstruction in the throat can be due to acid reflux, take antacids and PPIs to feel better.
It is good to know that you have finished with your prescription medicines(antibiotics) by your treating doctor. You do not have swallowing problems. In case your symptoms relapse, you may need a repeat test and a course of antibiotics. Stay away from addictions if any. Avoid talking so that the symptoms do not hurt you. Take only liquid diet or semi solid diet. Do not strain your throat unnecessarily. Take antihistamines at bed time for relief. Get treated at the earliest.
