Suggest Treatment For Small Knot On The Labia Majora
Hello. I am 27 years old and sexually active with my husband. I have a small knot on the right side on my labia manora (spell check) its tender to the touch and alittle swollen. Its not like a bump its hard. I had one about a month ago in the same spot. What could this be? Should I be worried? It went away last time.

Hi, I understand your query. The small knot on labia minora ( on margin of vagina) is mostly due to blockage of Bartholin glands leading to it's inflammation. You had it in the past also, it disappeared to recur again. The inflammation & tenderness indicate infection. You should start with- - Antibiotic like Ciprofloxin with tinadazole (Cifran TZ ) with tab. Ibuprofen 400 mg twice a day after food . - keep the area clean( with hot water) - take the course for 3-5 days till swelling goes completely. - If this turns in an abscess surgical drainage followed by dressings & oral medication is needed. Please check with a gynecologist before you start the medicines for proper dosage according to severity & your tolerance. Thanks.
