Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

I can understand your concern for the skin tanning and sun burns. It is quite usual to get sun tanning and sun burn after acute sun exposure.

I suggest you to do strict sun protection for the prevention of both. It is of utmost importance as to prevent further complications.

In my patients I suggest them a broad spectrum sun screen lotion covering both ultra violet A and B radiations. A physical sunscreen can also be applied for two times a day. This will help in prevention of tanning.

For the existing darkening I suggest my patients to apply a cream containing Kojic acid in it.

Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables.

All the best.
